Syd. I first met Syd, an 11 yr. old ex-racehorse, on 10 December 2005 - a sorry, unhappy horse in poor health who was living off his own muscle. He had started to give up on life and had a bad reputation - different yards and owners - he had been put through the mill! He had an old injury to his pelvis and a reputation for rearing (hardly surprising). He was however willing to let people ride him even when in pain, the mark of an honest horse. Syd's owners, who came to see me as a last resort, began to realise the problem and generously paid for his treatment, specialist care and re-training. His recovery took almost a year and he is now enjoying life again. He is healthy, happy and willing to do what is asked of him. I managed to find a new home for Syd but sadly, it did not work out financially and he has now returned to us, where he will see out his days. Ruby. Six year old Irish draft thoroughbred mare. Leg problems. A specialist programme was set up for this horse to enable it to do its job. Working in the sea. Exercising to build up leg muscles. Wiythin six months she was competing again in cross country events.

Star. Three year old thoroughbred chestnut mare. Never been handled. Couldn't be caught in a field. Very poor condition. This mare was broken and ridden away within a month. She was put on a special feeding programme to get condition back. Her well-being greatly improved and she was keen to work. She went on to compete in cross country, hunting and show jumping.

Don. A seven year old bay gelding that had previously been involved in a road accident. He had problems with eating and was very nervous and unsure of humans. Within six months this horse was going out hunting twice a week and competing in cross country events.Belle Belle has now returned home to her owner, successfully broken. She has been ridden by one of my helpers and the owner. This is going to be a great little pony. A joy to break!
